Vegan

In China, veganism have been around for 2000 years, it is part of the daily diets of Buddhist and Taoist monasteries where the killing of animals are highly forbidden which led them to veganism - healthy clean diet.

Most monasteries would be serving simple boiled or steamed vegetables with rice for their monks but over the centuries, rich and powerful people and even emperors become buddhist which led to Chinese vegetarian cooking developing into a sophisticated cuisine comparable to the eight great regional cuisines of China.

At Anise, we will be recreating some of these amazing dishes for you to enjoy. Without using MSG, food colourings or canned vegetables, natural flavours of the fresh and tasty ingredients can truly be tasted!
